Frequently Asked Questions
Who do I call with questions?
Continue to call any of the familiar faces you’ve come to know at any of The Union Bank branches. They will still be able to assist you with your questions.
Will there be any change to my current direct deposits or automatic transfers?
Your current direct deposits will continue with no interruption. Automatic transfers will also continue as scheduled unless we notify you.
Will I experience an immediate change to my Checking or Savings Account(s)?
Not at first. We will compare The Union Bank’s checking and savings accounts with First Guaranty Bank products. Based on the activity of your current bank account, your account will be matched to a similar First Guaranty Bank checking or savings account. This will not happen until we get closer to our account conversion which is the date our two banking systems will become one, which is close of business on March 27, 2020.
Will my Savings, Checking, CD, IRAs and Loan account numbers remain the same?
Most account numbers will remain the same. However, there may be a few account numbers that replicate already existing FGB account numbers. We will send correspondence to those account holders regarding their change.
Can I continue using my current checks and deposit tickets?
Yes, you may continue using your The Union Bank checks and deposit tickets. There will be no interruption in your usage of these items.
Can I continue using my The Union Bank Debit Card?

Can I use any The Union Bank or First Guaranty Bank ATM?
Yes, you may use any FGB and The Union Bank ATMs not located at the Paragon Casino at no charge. At the Paragon Casino, the 4 The Union Bank ATMs will still charge customers a $2.00 withdrawal fee.
Can I bank at any The Union Bank or First Guaranty Bank location now?
You will be able to cash The Union Bank checks at any First Guaranty Bank location; however, no other transactions can be done until account conversion has occurred and we are on common systems. For now, continue to manage your current The Union Bank account just as you do today. At close of business on March 27, 2020, our systems will be merged, and you will then be able to transact full banking business at any First Guaranty Bank location.
Can I continue to use online banking and bill pay? What about the mobile app (Mobiliti)?
